Who we are

Fitbit Kit (“Fitbit Kit,” “we,” “us”) is built and operated by Yash Vadaria, a solo indie developer in Montreal, Canada. This policy covers the Fitbit Kit apps for iOS and Android and fitkit.app.

What we collect

We do not collect your physical location, contacts, photos, or browsing history.

• Account. If you sign in, the sign-in provider gives us the name, email address and profile picture on that account. We use them to show you who is signed in and to reply to you. Your health data is not stored with your account.
• Fitbit connection. When you connect Fitbit, you authorise the app with Fitbit directly and an access token is kept on your phone. The app uses it to read your activity data (steps, distance, sleep, exercise, water, calories, active minutes, active zone) from Fitbit onto your phone. We do not run a server that stores or relays your Fitbit data.
• Email. Only if you write to support. We use it to reply to you.
• Anonymous app counts and crash reports (Firebase). The app sends a few event names and crash reports through Firebase so we can see how many people connect a Fitbit, sync, and log activities, and fix what breaks. These signals are not tied to your name, email, or health data. We look at totals, not individual people.
• Website traffic. The marketing site uses Google Analytics for aggregate page views. We do not use this to identify you personally.

What we do not collect

• GPS, IP-based location profiles, or a home address from the app
• Your Fitbit history on a Fitbit Kit server. Fitbit Kit reads it onto your phone and draws the grids there
• Payment details. Fitbit Kit is free; there is nothing to buy
• Advertising profiles or sale of personal data

Fitbit access is required so activities can fill themselves in. That authorisation stays on your phone and can be revoked in the app (Settings → Fitbit) or in your Fitbit account settings. On Android, Health Connect permissions work the same way and are granted per data type.

How we use information

• Deliver the app and support replies
• See whether Fitbit sync and logging are working in aggregate so we can improve the product
• Meet legal obligations if we are required to

Sharing

We do not sell your information. We may share limited data with service providers who help run Fitbit Kit (sign-in, Firebase, website analytics), under their own terms. Fitbit processes your Fitbit account under Fitbit’s own privacy policy. We may also disclose information if the law requires it.

Your rights

You can ask us to access, correct, or delete the account and email we have for you. Email hello@fitkit.app. Deleting the app removes its local data, including your Fitbit token and activity history, from your phone. Because Firebase events are anonymous counts, we cannot look up “your” telemetry record.

Children

Fitbit Kit is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.

Changes

We may update this page. The “Last updated” date at the top is the effective date.
